Okay, so I know this might be completely lame, but I'm the biggest nerd ever, and I've never been around people who share the same passion for film making as I do, and I think we all probably share the same excitement over getting into this amazing program. So, I was thinking, maybe it would be cool to get to know each other a little bit before we actually meet in person. So, here are a few things that I think are really important to know:
Name: Stacy Milbourn
Hometown: Ontonagon, MI (look it up; it's on Wikipedia!)
Favorite Movie: It's kind of dumb for me to pose this question, because I don't know what my favorite movie is! I'm all over the place. But other people do. So, my favorite movie of all time is either "Titanic," "Beauty and the Beast," or "50/50." See? All over the place.
Favorite TV Show: "LOST." Hands down.
Last Movie/TV Show you watched: I'm on season 2 of "Felicity," the show with Keri Russell from the late-'90s. I really love it.
Favorite Book: "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows"
Three Fun Facts about Yourself:
1. Growing up, I had a pet pig that weighed 1,000 pounds.
2. I once got hit in the face by Johnny Depp.
3. I've wanted to be a writer since I was four years old.
If you guys think of any other questions, add them on.

Favorite Movie: I also don't have a favorite. It's too hard to pick just one, so here are a few: "There Will Be Blood", "Sideways", "The Passion of Anna", "A Woman Under the Influence", "The Sacrifice", "My Night at Mauds", "Manhattan", "The Shinning".
Favorite TV Show: It has to be a tie between "LOST" and "Mad Men". "Mad Men" has filled the void in my life since "LOST" ended.
Last Movie/TV Show you watched: "Brief Encounter"
Favorite Book: "The Road" by Cormac McCarthy
Three Fun Facts about Yourself (I never know how to answer these types of questions):
1. I'm a Cuban American, but I don't speak Spanish.
2. I was once close enough to Glenn Beck to hit him in the face, but I backed out at the last minute.
3. I once delivered a murder weapon. (Well, an attempted murder weapon.)
Permalink Reply by Stacy Milbourn on May 5, 2012 at 8:06pm Thanks for replying, Jared. I'll have to check out "Brief Encounter." It looks pretty noir, and I love film noir. You should've hit Glenn Beck in the face. And a murder weapon?! Crazy!
Permalink Reply by Stephanie Williams on May 7, 2012 at 10:22am I agree, you should have hit Glen Beck. Well, actually I advocate non-violence, so maybe you could have just passive-aggressively tripped him as he passed... Also, Stacy, please explain how you managed to be hit in the face by Johnny Depp. That is just too intriguing a statement not to be followed with an explanation. :-)
Permalink Reply by Stephanie Williams on May 7, 2012 at 10:19am I'm so glad you started this Stacy! I can't wait to meet everyone, so this will help take the edge off for a bit. I also completely agree with your sentiment about being "around people who share the same passion for filmmaking." That's just so incredibly exciting! Ok, so here goes:
Name: Stephanie Vittoria Williams
Hometown: I guess that would be Boynton Beach, FL, but I was born in Boston, MA
Favorite Movie: I absolutely can't stand when people ask me this, since I honestly do not have an answer. Every time I try to pin it down I end up going off on a 20 minute diatribe qualifying all my favorites based on factors of personal significance, artistic influence, and just general enjoyment. However, since I see you guys have taken a stab at it, I'll just list a few in no particular order: "8 1/2," "The Last Emperor," "The Lord of the Rings Trilogy," "Amelie," Absolutely Anything by Joss Whedon or Tim Burton, "Blow Up," "Amadeus," "Velvet Goldmine," "Brokeback Mountain," "In The Mood for Love," "Cinema Paradiso," etc., etc., etc. Yeah... not sure if that made any sense. ;-)
Favorite TV Show: Again, anything by Joss Whedon (Firefly, why were you canceled!)
Last Movie/TV show you watched: Footnote
Favorite Book: Harry Potter!
Three Fun Facts:
1. My prize possession when I was 11 was a response from Peter Jackson to a fan letter I wrote to him after seeing "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring."
2. My first language was Italian. My mom's side of the family can be traced back to "Hercules"
3. Before film, I studied music performance. (I play the trumpet)
Well, there it is! I look forward to reading more posts soon.
Permalink Reply by Stacy Milbourn on May 7, 2012 at 12:05pm Oh my gosh, I just watched the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy for the first time in December (I had watched them before, but each one was running from like midnight to three a.m. and I totally didn't comprehend ANYTHING), and they are absolutely AMAZING! I couldn't believe how incredible they are! My boyfriend got the special edition pack or whatever with all the added material, and it was awesome. I kept asking him, "Why didn't you tell me they were so good?!" And he had before. I just didn't believe him, I guess.
And "Harry Potter." Of course Harry Potter. :) I'm totally, completely obsessed with everything Harry Potter. It's quite bad, actually.
Permalink Reply by Stephanie Williams on May 7, 2012 at 8:33pm Haha, that's awesome! I saw The Lord of the Rings films as they came out. I was really skeptical to go see the first one since I was a huge fan of the book, but once I saw the film I became obsessed! I would LOVE to be working on The Hobbit right now! And Harry Potter is soo the best series ever! I have to admit I haven't seen all the movies, but the books are my absolute favorites.
Permalink Reply by Stacy Milbourn on May 7, 2012 at 9:33pm The movies don't hold a candle to the books anyway, really. And I wish I was working on the second "Hunger Games" film right now. Oooh, but I think "The Hobbit" will be awesome, because Benedict Cumberbatch is in it, and he's pretty incredible.
Permalink Reply by Stephanie Williams on May 8, 2012 at 5:21pm Oh yeah, the Hunger Games! I saw the movie first and then wanted to know what happened so I read the trilogy and absolutely loved it! It's so nice to see something with a strong, three-dimensional female character for a change.
And Benedict Cumberbatch is really cool. Sherlock is awesome. :-)
Permalink Reply by Stacy Milbourn on May 8, 2012 at 7:57pm I agree about "The Hunger Games." I love the books, love the movie. I'm also absolutely obsessed with "Sherlock." I can't wait to watch the new three episodes!!
Permalink Reply by Stephanie Williams on May 8, 2012 at 8:57pm Haha, me too! I have a feeling we are going to get along really well. :-D
Permalink Reply by Stacy Milbourn on May 8, 2012 at 9:08pm Haha, me too. :)
Name: Katie Harbin
Hometown: Well… I’ve lived in Tennessee for about 10 years now. So I guess Greeneville, TN is my hometown. But I’m a military kid, so we moved around a lot. I was born in Puerto Rico, and then moved to Pennsylvania, New York, Virginia, Georgia, and Tennessee. And now Florida! :)
Favorite movie: Oh my gosh! I hate this question too! I totally agonize over it when people ask me. How can I pick just one? So here’s my list: Contact, the Matrix, Titanic, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Wristcutters: A Love Story, Edward Scissorhands, Donnie Darko, Butterfly Effect, Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World, Office Space, Wayne’s World, 40-year-old Virgin.
And I love me a good musical—Chicago, Wizard of Oz, How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying, Sound of Music, Nightmare Before Christmas, and Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog (I’m a newfound Joss Whedon fan)
Favorite TV show(s): LOST, the Office, Big Bang Theory, Louie, Wilfred, American Horror Story, and Walking Dead (gotta love those zombies!)
Last Movie/TV show watched: I absolutely LOVED the Hunger Games! It’s the last one I saw in theatres. They shot it in North Carolina, you know? And they’re making 4 movies, so maybe when we’ve graduated we can go help out on it. I would love to act in it! I liked the strong female hero! You really don’t see too much of that these days…
Favorite book: The Time Traveler’s Wife
Three fun facts:
1) I live on a farm (complete with naturally grown veggies, chickens, and sheep!)
2) I majored in Theatre in undergrad. I love acting. (Cast me in your movies!)
3) I got press passes to Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival last year. And saw a TON of great bands. It rocked. :)
