Hello fellow new MFAs,

I am currently hunting for apartments near FSU and was wondering if anyone else in the program would be interested in potentially sharing a two-bedroom apartment to split costs.

Kelly,

I'd be down, unless, of course, you're looking for a female roommate. I'm working as a contractor in Iraq right now (saving some cash for school) and I'll be here through July, so researching an apartment was going to be tricky for me. If you're looking to move in August 1st, you might be there a week before me as I still have to fly to CA and drive my stuff cross-country, but I'd mail you a check in plenty of time for my half of the deposit and first month's rent.

Feel free to email me at jfeeney82@gmail.com

Take care!

J
Hi J,
I'm a MFA currently looking for roommates in what has been called "The Film School House." With the new year my roommates are graduating and moving in with their significant others. The house is in a nice neighborhood (mainly old people) about 2 miles from school. Rent is cheap- $337/mo (4 bed). This is a no-pet and no-smoking house. I would like to keep this a film student house as we all have the same crazy schedule and understand what everyone is going through. Let me know if you're interested 619-818-7018.

Looking forward to working with you in Aug!

Best,
Matt Ryan
I'm going to have to find an apartment as well for about the same time as J there. Anyone have any leads haha
Hello,

I had a chance to apartment hunt while I was in Tallahassee for my interview. I found an apartment complex called Campus Walk (http://www.campuswalk.com). They are inexpensive and only a block away from school. I am married and will not need a roommate but I live in Kansas and the apartment complex has been really great about working everything out long distance.

I hope this helps!
I'd be up for splitting a 2 or 3 bedroom apartment with other film MFAs. I'm 23, pretty quiet and easy to live with. Occasional smoker, but never in or around the home. Looking for an August 1st move in. Shoot me an email if you're looking for a roommate.

Hey guys,

Thought I'd introduce myself.

Me and my parents are still discussing housing situations, I will be visiting Tallahassee in late June to pick out a apt. and do some other stuff...However, I won't be moving down until August. Thanks, Teresa for the link to that complex...that looks very promising. I look forward to meeting everyone in the fall...

Peace,
Corey
Man I wish you had asked this only 2 weeks ago. I was looking to room with someone within the school as well, and then I gave up and found someone on facebook marketplace. If that falls through, I guess I will be back here begging haha. Anyway, I found this article that says which areas are good or bad and what to expect though.

Thanks for starting this group Kelly...good to start getting to know everyone! I am flying over to Tallahassee in mid-June to apartment hunt. I was thinking of possibly living alone but might be interested in a roommate if we're interested in similar housing. I can live with either a girl or a guy...I'm a bit of a neat freak, but outgoing and easy to live with. I've been trying to figure out if there's anywhere affordable to live downtown b/c that looks kind of cool. Send me an email if you want to talk further about this: lalexander3@gmail.com.

Also, out of curiosity... are you guys Production or Writing? Just wondering who is going to be a writer with me!

Hey everyone,

I am primarily looking for a female roommate, but I'd definitely consider living with a guy, too. I'd really like to live in a quieter place. I've done some online research and am probably going to head down to Tallahassee in a few weekends to check out several places. Re: Nicole: I wish I had posted this sooner, too!
Kelly, thanks for posting this, and thanks everybody for the tips. Yeah, I'd definitely be down to the possibility of living with some (male) MFA's. I won't be moving to Tallahassee until mid-August, but I will probably have some time this summer to go there to check out apartments (I'm definitely a newbie at apartment hunting, though). Will keep you posted.
And, Laura, I'm Production. Can't wait to meet you guys and start working. This is going to be fun!
