Hey Carlos,

I'm an Writing MFA hailing from Arkansas...I'm stoked about what the fall and the next two years have in store....I do have one question...Is that first semester really as hard as my imagination is making it out to be?? Hehe...:)

Short answer, yes.

The second year writers want to do a lunch with you guys before the semester starts and we never see you again. I figure some time right after orientation before classes start. We'll figure it out.

I'm one of the writers...currently living/working in Los Angeles but originally from Austin, TX. I'm excited about next year (though, Corey- I'm a bit freaked about 1st semester as well!) And pre-semester lunch sounds great. Looking forward to meeting everyone then!

Don't blame me. They gave me a degree and I couldn't take anymore writing classes after that. Then the whole production thing happened. One thing led to another. And now I think a little piece of my brain falls out with every C-stand I set up.

I thought I should introduce myself. My name is Ray, and I'm from Michigan. I'll be a writer in the fall and I can't wait to move to Florida. I look forward to to meeting and working with all of you.

Thanks Carlos for starting this discussion. I don't have any questions as of yet, but it's good to know that you're available when I think of one. Also, lunch with the second year writers sounds awesome.

Hey all.

Name's Matthew, and like pretty much all of you I'm fairly ecstatic to have the chance to be attending film school here.

Found out that I was accepted to the program rather late, so I only just met some of you at orientation today but it was a pleasure getting to know most of you.

I earned my degrees in Creative Writing and Anthropology here at Florida State in May ( right before the whole Anthro dept went the way of the elaborate extinct hominid of your choice), and look forward to seeing tally through the film lens as opposed to my normal....er.... glassy ones.
