Get a sneak peek at our new studio, meet filmmakers and faculty, and have lunch on us. Hope to see you there!”
From Duane Wood (BFA 01) “My wife Susannah and I recently relocated to London for her job and I just started working as digital dailies/assistant editor on Skyfall (Bond 23) with Deluxe. I also spent three months in Hawaii working on The River, which debuts on ABC this Spring. If you're ever in London, look us up and we'll buy you a pint (or coffee): duaneawood@gmail.com .”
From Carlos Rivera (BFA 07) “Fortunately for me LA has worked-out a lot better than NYC did. I don't know where to begin but I've been lucky enough to find steady work editing out here over the last two years. I'm now an editor in the Motion Picture Editors Guild, which is very cool to me. I just finished editing on Project Runway All-Stars for Lifetime and the Weinstein Co. Over the summer I co-edited a a proof-of-concept pilot for some producers from Disney and a bilingual, battle-of-the-bands show called Vive Tu Musica for LATV. I did some editing on Greko Sklavounos new video for the group CREEP from Brooklyn, NYC. Currently I'm junior editor on a feature doc about the recession that's set to release in the fall and I'm going to be editing a pilot that Lauren Bickers (BFA '06) is directing in the coming weeks. I'm hoping to find some time to work on my own projects in the coming months but we'll see how things go.”
From Kyle Reid (MFA 10) “After a crazy road trip to AC on a feature in St. Louis four days after graduation, then shooting a music video directed by Bobby Marinelli (MFA ‘10) and edited by Jamie Kassler (MFA ‘11), then heading back to The Film School to teach Color Grading for BFA Thesis, and then regrouping at home for a bit, I am finally moving to Baton Rouge, LA to start work as the new Rental Coordinator for Hollywood Rentals, Baton Rouge. There are many exciting features coming up in Louisiana this year!”
From Rashi Bahri Chintis (MFA 03) “Many of you know that I was directing and producing a short feature last year in partnership with Joe Palladino. Well the good news is that our film, "The Secret Ingredient" has been selected at the upcoming Santa Barbara Film Festival and will premiere on 2nd Feb (Thursday) at the Lobero Theatre followed by another screening on 3rd Feb (Friday) at the Metro Theatre in Santa Barbara. http://sbiff.org/2012-sbiff-film-announcement font color="#0000FF">http://sbiff.org/2012-sbiff-film-announcement> font color="#0000FF">http://sbiff.org/2012-sbiff-film-announcement font color="#0000FF">http://sbiff.org/2012-sbiff-film-announcement> font color="#0000FF">http://sbiff.org/2012-sbiff-film-announcement > > We are extremely excited as one can imagine! It has been my honor to work with an amazing team of people and I cannot wait to see the film on a big screen, with them.”

From Andrew Hevis (BFA 06) “Last month Nick Zayas (BFA 06) and Meredith Lockwood (BFA 06) were married in a beautiful ceremony in Miami. Ellen Morton (BFA 06) was in attendance, and Andrew Hevia (BFA 06) was best man. The wedding was a blast and good times were had by all.”
From Josh Tickell (MFA 02) “Remember when you used to sit next to the warm glow of the transistor radio and hear stories from afar, breaking news and echoes from the corners of the planet? Well, maybe you’ve never even seen a transistor radio (they were like iPods that got music from the air – before WIFI). Regardless, this Sunday at 12 noon PST / 3pm EST, I will be hosting my inaugural… live… weekly radio show, “TICKELL TALKS,” and you can tune in – from anywhere – for free. The 90-minute show is available LIVE via the following: telephone (call in details below), Skype, web, and will be live video streaming on the Google+ social network via a “Meetup.” No matter where you are, you can call in and listen in, Skype in, click on a web link and stream it or log on to the Google+ social network and see the live video feed of the show. Over the course of the year, I will be interviewing a number of green energy experts in the fields of advanced fuels, solar energy, wind, new energy technologies, biotech, eco-agriculture and green chemistry as well as automotive experts, finance experts and the people who are building a new generation of green industrial processes for everything from making drinking spirits greener to greening our schools and hospitals. The driver of the show is simple – it’s the bottom line. Every week, every subject is tied to money saved, and money made. Don’t think Green is a big money maker? Well, Bloomberg cites cleantech as over a $250 Billion dollar a year industry – that’s Billion with a “B.” And it’s growing exponentially. Last Sunday's guest is Dr. Dickson Despommier, author of new book, “The Vertical Farm: Feeding the World in the 21st Century.” Dr. Dickson Despommier is an accomplished professor of biology at Columbia University. He has been asked by governments of China, India, Mexico, Jordan, Brazil, Canada, and Korea to work on environmental problems. So whether you align with an eco ethos or you want more green in your pocket, listen to TICKELL TALKS Sundays at 12noon PST / 3pm EST.
