In last week's Warren Report, I reported that the $2500 Pathfinder Scholarship that was awarded to Briana Frapart at the BFA Thesis FilmScreening was funded by Florida Commerce Credit Union. THAT IS INCORRECT. Samantha Strickland, wonderful patron of the Film School, created the Pathfinder Award when she was with the Florida Commerce Credit Union. Samrecently started her own company, Pea Green Solutions, Inc. (a full-service marketing and communications firm), and has assumed the funding for this scholarship.
Missy Carter (MFA 96) is a writer/consulting producer for two new TV shows: Jane by Design and The Lying Game. She wrote the 6th episode for both shows!

From Ben Solovey (BFA 07) “The restoration of Manos: The Hands of Fate began fundraising via Kickstarter on the 24th and can be found at http://kck.st/uucMGt /span>http://kck.st/uucMGt> . So far things have gone well- 311 backers have helped us cross the $22,000 mark and we still have 30 days to go! We've already met our minimum, so additional funds will go towards creating a better image and audio, adding some fun extras to the disc, and producing a 35mm 2k to film-out for long term preservation. Donors receive all sorts of fun rewards, so check it out! If any alumni in Los Angeles would like to help out (especially in audio and postproduction), don't hesitate to write me at master@manosinhd.com . For updates and new screenshots three times a week, be sure to check out the website www.manosinhd.com /span>http://www.manosinhd.com/ /span>http://www.manosinhd.com/> > or find us on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/ManosinHD.”
From Shane Houghton (BFA 07) “The new PEANUTS comic book series features stories written by me! Every issue has three or four short stories, and I've been contributing stories along with artist Matt Whitlock, who is also from the same small town in Michigan that I am from. Matt currently works as a storyboard artist on Family Guy and draws my Peanuts stories on the side. PEANUTS is monthly and will have new issues coming out on Wednesdays towards the beginning of the month. The first issue is already in stores! Also, REED GUNTHER continues to be a success and issue #7 hits stands on Jan. 11th! And in non-entertainment job news... Over the holidays I got engaged! The lovely Katie Scott (FSU '08 Alum) said yes, and we are now trying to figure out all that crazy wedding stuff. Katie works as a Public Relations Associate for Nintendo, is a true artist when it comes to cooking, and is really super freaking cool. You should meet her.”
From Craig Kief (BFA 99) “Last month's American Cinematographer magazine had an article about the music video I shot for OK Go with Soapbox Films. Kris Eber (BFA 99) produced the video, Chris Alender (BFA 98) directed second unit, and Matt Blundell (BFA ) was the editor. Many other alumni also worked on the video. The article is also available online at my website: http://www.craigkief.com/#press
From Billy Hanson (BFA 05 ) “Erin Cancino (BFA 05) and I have been working for the better part of a year to put together a short film based on Stephen King's story "Survivor Type". We finally have all of the pieces in place and are set to begin filming in late February/early March, so we've started our fundraising campaign. We start casting first thing in the new year and start building the extensive make-up effects after that. For more information on the project and the people involved, and to learn about making donations, follow the link below to get to our Kickstarter page. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1221120548/survivor-type?ref=live /span>http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1221120548/survivor-type?ref=live>

From Alex Landers (MFA 10) “Playwriting is alive and well for me on the east coast: First, the contest I emailed about last month turned out it my favor! I am one of three new resident playwrights at the True False Theatre in NYC, and my work will be featured in their upcoming reading series, The Polygraph Tests at the end of the month. Please check out the theatre's website at www.truefalsetheatre.org for more information and updates. Readings of my play "Annabelle Stops Eating" will be performed and open to the public (for free, no less!) on January 21st and 28th at COLLAB on 304 Hudson Street. I would love to see some familiar film school faces!
And secondly, my one act from New Horizons, "Don't Worry Baby" has been invited back to this year's ACTF Region 4 Conference in Daytona Beach, Florida. The show is being produced and directed by the film school's very own Rebekah Suellau, with a whole team of other FSU alums, including our set designer Marco Barreto (MFA '11), stage manager Sarah George (School of Theatre) and a cast of famous film school actors - Perry Powell, Michael Patrick and Meg Cain. The one-time performance will be held at the Gillespy Theatre at the News-Journal Center on Thursday, February 2nd at Noon. All other information about the festival (including readings and productions of even more FSU plays from the MFA '12 class of writers - congrats!) can be found on the Region 4 website: http://kcactf4.org/festival/festival-44-invited-productions a href="http://kcactf4.org/festival/festival-44-invited-productions%3E">http://kcactf4.org/festival/festival-44-invited-productions>; .”
