From Adele Romanski (BFA 04)  “"We're in need of some title design help on BLACK ROCK the all girl thriller I produced in Maine this summer directed by & starring Katie Aselton (along with Kate Bosworth & Lake Bell). I'm hoping an alum can help us out (or perhaps even someone still enrolled @ FSU?) It's fairly basic/simple stuff. Would be for credit. It's a very cool project - we're posting now, will premiere next year. We are are LA based, but titles could be done remotely. “Looking for a student to work on creating a non-paying video documentary about the built environment of homeless people as a component of a MFA thesis for Interior Design. Using ethnographic methods, the video will focus on spending a day or more experiencing what it is like to be homeless and forced to live in transitional housing or shelters. The project will last for about a semester, with most of the planning taking place this fall and filming occurring in the spring. “Tenure-track position in Visual Communications   The School of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of South Carolina is searching for a dynamic and creative professor to join the faculty of a growing visual communications program.  The school has both academic and professional tracks. Academic-track candidates must have a Ph.D. (ABDs considered) and some professional or teaching experience. Professional-track candidates must have the MFA and significant professional experience. The position is for open rank.

The ideal candidate for either the academic or professional track would have strong teaching competencies in visual communication theory, history and demonstrated skills in the design, development and delivery of print and web-based content for news, commercial or nonprofit audiences. A portfolio of design, multimedia or video work is required of all candidates.  Applicants for the academic track should demonstrate an appropriate record of scholarly research and be willing to contribute to the development of the graduate program at the Master’s and doctoral levels.
