From Sylwia Dudzinska (MFA  09)  “The DGA Training Program has placed me on my next show.  I'm leaving sunny LA to spend 3 months in Albuquerque, NM to work on the USA show In Plain Sight.  Very excited!”

From Jessica Wilson-Silas (BFA 07) “I just got my first official national feature film credit in Tower Heist as a Visual Effects Coordinator.”

Congratulations to David Barrow Wiley (MFA  08) who won First Place in the COCA 2011 Photofest exhibition at the ArtPort Gallery.  Go to http://www.cocanet.org/news/2011/12/9/photofest-exhibit-award-winne... to see his photo and some of the runners up!

From Pat McDonnell (BFA  97)  “ Ryan Sarnowski  (BFA  98)  and I are producing a documentary in Ecuador this January. We are raising funds via http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1643982696/mayu-the-fight-for-ecuadorsrivers?ref=live <file://localhost/owa/redir.aspx>     We only have 6 days remaining.”

From Ben Solovey (BFA 07)  “Plenty of updates to share on the restoration of 'Manos: The Hands Of Fate'!   First of all, thanks to the tremendous outpouring of support the project has experienced (1,200 followers on Facebook and counting), I have been in touch with some very generous people who have offered to donate and discount their services for the restoration. This includes an unprecedented rate for use of the DFT Scanity, a top of the line film scanner designed specifically to handle fragile archival footage. Contributors to the forthcoming fundraiser can be sure that every dollar will count towards creating a pristine audiovisual experience, and a long-overdue fresh look at this cinematic outsider.  NPR.com's Chris Heller interviewed me earlier this week for a fun article on the project, entitled 'Manos The Hands of Fate: Carefully Restoring The Opposite Of A Masterpiece'. You can find it here: http://www.npr.org/blogs/monkeysee/2011/12/12/143573040/manos-the-h... .
This restoration doesn't just end with the image: a startling new development may soon allow us to unearth the original audio tracks from the film! I'm currently on the lookout for audio engineers who would like to assist us in the restoration of sound elements. If you'd like to reach me for this or any reason regarding the project, I can be found at master@manosinhd.com.”  For updates and new screenshots three times a week, be sure to check out the website www.manosinhd.com, or find us on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/ManosinHD.”

From Adele Romanski (BFA  04)  “I recently launched a kickstarter campaign to raise finishing funds for a film I wrote/directed called LEAVE ME LIKE YOU FOUND ME. There's a cool little video about the project on our kickstarter page which you can check out here:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1756210031/leave-me-like-you-fo... font color="#0000FF">http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1756210031/leave-me-like-you-fo...
>   The video does a much better job of explaining the project than I can here, so please check it out. FSU role call! Taylor Feltner (BFA '04) produced, James Laxton (BFA '03) shot it, Nikki West (BFA '02) edited & Megan Boone (who acted in lots of our student films) stars in the film. There has already been a large outpouring of support from other FSU alums (guys, you know who you are & THANK YOU). Every little bit helps - honestly, it's not about making large donations. As one kickstarter staffer described it to me "it's really not about the $ it's about giving someone a digital high five and keeping up with their progress!" I couldn't agree with her more. We'd be grateful for any support & would love to send you a button or postcard from the festival premiere!”

From Su Kim (MFA  07)  “Greetings from Seoul, Korea to all of my FSU friends and Alum. After I got back to Korea, I started off as an line producer for a television mini-series that shot mainly in Jeju Isalnd in Korea including two international location - south Africa and Las Vegas. After that, I worked as a segment line producer for another tv miniseries for two episodes that shot in Hawaii. Then I worked as a freelance segment editor for another tv miniseries about Korean War. I edited only action sequences for all episodes. After these three TV productions, I finally landed on film production as a script supervisor. It's my first feature in Korea. It's called 'The professionals(Do Duk Deul)' Showbox is the distributor. Both the director(Choi Dong Hoon who directed Tajja and Woochi) and the producer(Ahn Soo Hyun who produced Bakjwi which is known as Thirst by Park Chan Wook) are well established. It was a pretty big production. We just wrapped a couple of weeks ago, and the post production starts soon. This production as well filmed in two foreign countries - Hong Kong and Macao. The casts include Kim Yoon-Seok, Kim Hye-su, Lee Jung-jae, Gianna Jun, Simon Yam, and Angelica Lee. I'll be working for this film till its release which will be July 2012 when Dark Night is also releasing in Korea.”
